On 30th June 2010 the Democratic Republic of Congo celebrated the 50th anniversary of its independence from Belgian rule.
During this time the Congolese have been almost continuously at war.
In the last 15 years over five million people have died in the bloodiest conflict since World War II.
At the centre of this battered country stands the United Nations, charged with keeping order.
In this film, OR Media embeds with UN forces on patrol in Congo, to tell the story of the challenges facing the world’s biggest peacekeeping mission.
It also reveals a population fearful that if the UN pulls out, the warlords will return.
